Pat Green dominates Texas radio, headlines Cattle Baron's Ball

“Someone sure did their math.”

That was Texas singer-songwriter Pat Green’s response when reminded about being honored with the first ever Decade Award given by the Texas Music Chart.

Green, taking time out from a family vacation to chat, was one of many performing Texas country when Web site www.texasmusicchart.com began publishing statistics. Just having a Texas Music Chart excited the entire Lone Star State.

Ten years later, Green was informed that his songs had been played on Texas radio 269,783 times in the chart’s first decade, and website NashvilleGab.com fired up its calculator and determined that a Pat Green song was being played on the radio somewhere in Texas every seven minutes for the past 10 years.

“It is an honor, it is something we appreciate and, yes, you do get some happiness from it,” said Green. “But to dwell on anything like that would be counterproductive.”
