Americana Music Festival Artist Interview: Will Kimbrough

Multi-instrumentalist Will Kimbrough has been a fixture in Nashville's Independent music scene since the late 1980's, working with artists from Todd Snider to Jimmy Buffett, as a studio musician, a songwriter, and a record producer, as well as a member of such notable Nashville bands as The Bis-Quits and Daddy.

This year, Will Kimbrough snagged his third Americana Music Awards nomination for Best Instrumentalist, joining a list of nominees that includes Dave Rawlings and Sam Bush.  He will be performing a showcase concert at The Rutledge on Thursday, September 9 along with Dave Olney and Tommy Emmanuel.  Will Kimbrough recently spoke with me by phone to talk about Americana Music's recent popularity surge, working with other Nashville artists, and what makes the East Nashville scene unique.
