Gordy's new album is killer. A pure roots and soulful / folk album worth picking up. I especially like Lady Juliana - a song about the first women prisoners sent from England to Sydney to help settle the land.
I recently saw Gordy with the Band of Heathens at Gruene Hall, he and the band were amazing, great live performance. Also of note, it looks as if his new album will be coming out in the middle of June!
Gordy is by far one of my favorite singer/songwriters. His style of picking, singing, and writing are in perfect harmony. I actually came across Gordy because of Lonestar Music and their LSM Rewards. What a great discovery!!!
WOW!! Gordy is moving very quickly up my list of favorites. Songs Play Me shows off his songwriting skills as well as his vocal talent. Anxiously awaiting the next, in what I'm sure will be a long, long line, of albums from this amazing talent.
WOW - Gorsy Quist is outstanding! "Songs Play Me" is great! Gordy Quist is a very talented songwriter - and has a great voice as well. Caught him solo @ Gruene Hall with Adam Carroll & Roger Marin - I was totally amazed, and can't wait for the new CD to be released. He is definitely worth a listen if haven't already!
Wow, I saw his new group, Band of Heathens, at Gruene Hall. Gordy is something alone on his own CD, but this new sound from the Band of Heathens was spectacular. I could'nt leave, after just stopping in for a beer that Sunday afternoon. When in the next CD coming out? Can't wait.
Outstanding lyricks and style. A real talent who should take off bigtime after he gets some exposure. A really good guitar player and throws in mix of blues at recent show I saw, which was great. Don't miss the opportunity to see him live and his CD is a must for Texas music lovers. Can't wait for his promised new CD.
EXCELLENT song writer! Buy his CD! I love the ship song :-)

Every now and again I will check on Lonestar to see what's out there. I just slipped up on these samples of Gordy's music and I think it's great. He has a real feel and voice for that traditional sound. Keep it up. Rushin Steele "Hog Legg Ellis" Check out www.accuradio.com
This songwriter is a real talent. I love this CD. Watch for this guy to take off. I saw a recent show live and was amazed at his blues style. His version of Stormy Monday blew me away. Will we hear more blues from this songwriter on his next CD. I sure hope so.
