Artist Review
In today's "Texas music" market, mediocre songs and less-than-stellar artists frequently overpower listeners who have turned on their radio in search of musical salvation. However, with the emergence from his post-"Tainted Angel" hiatus, Chris Wall breathes new life into the remains of country music. Wall has made a career of wowing fans with his visions of love, experiences of heartbreak, and his amazing ability to reach the pinnacle of great music with each record made. The author of "Three Across" and "I Feel Like Hank Williams Tonight," (recorded by Jerry Jeff Walker on "Live at Gruene Hall") Wall has amassed an amazing library of songs that all seem to capture the mind of any listener. With his low, rough-hewn voice, Wall absolutely defines what country music is missing- soul. Proving his talents do not stop at writing or performing, Wall has consistently delivered self produced albums that prove he not only knows how to write good music, but how to make it as well. In an age/genre that has seen too many terrible records (many made by those who shouldn't be making them at all), Chris Wall's prowess to create music that inspires, soothes, or amuses is a blessing to the art. With his upcoming sixth release, Chris Wall has entrenched himself as a legendary figure in music and songwriting, and anyone who desires to hear what great music should sound like needs to find his records.

What more do you want? This is TEXAS! He is about 6'6" (this is texas right) 300lbs, built like a linebacker. Looks like he could whip Shaq's butt. When you leave the venue you aren't looking for his bus you are looking for his horse. He has a big old grizzly adam's beard and always wears a black hat. But since he is from Texas he is the nicest guy you could ever meet. However, I wouldn't challenge him to a gun fight because I hear that he carries a widow maker which he can use to hit a quarter, in the air at 300 meters....did I also tell you that he roped a twister, rode it into cowtown and all the while sang a song about your sorry life and how Enron stole your money, your wife is cheating with your dog and how even if he was drunk out of his mind he could kick your sorry butt sittin down.....like I said this is Texas.

Chris is the most honest, personal song writer I have ever met/heard. His songs are poetic, he's a true testament to Texas music. Glad he got here as quickly as he could. Beautiful songs - keep it up Chris! Can't wait for the next album. Everyone else, enjoy!

I've known Chris since he came to Texas. Certainly one of the best songwriters around. Tremendous lyrics! Wrote my favorite country song "I Feel Like Hank Williams Tonight". It's a classic. If you like country music or even if you don't, You'll like Chris Wall.

If you don't have at least one of Chris Wall's CDs, you're not listening to Texas music. I'd recommend "Any Saturday Night in Texas" to start.

Too good for words. One of the best CD's I have heard in a while. I listen to the whole thing without even getting up to get another beer. I didn't want to stop the dang CD player.

A while back I moved from the Clear Lake area to West Palm Beach. Once in a while I make it back to Texas to see old friends. This Christmas was one of those times. Jeff and Carla got the plastic lawn flamingos and Barb and I got TAINTED ANGEL. I really owe them next year.Three across really took me back to Austin in the mid-seventies. Thank you for this and all the other great toons.(WONDERFUL ALBUM)
