If you haven't seen Toni Price live, you haven't seen Toni Price.
This hippie chick played JULIA ROBERTS wedding (the most recent, not the one to Lyle) . . . She defines what South Austin is, she is an Austin Music and Texas Music institution --- so for you who have not had a chance to be mesmorized by this country/blues singing nymph, check her out during her Hippie Hour early Tuesday evenings at the Continental Club (another Austin music institution) OR at the
Cactus Jazz and Blues Festival in San Angelo, Texas in early September.
My Austinite brother turned me on to Toni Price long ago, giving me the CD "Hey" for Christmas.
It wasn't until I saw her live at the Continental Club that I was sold. Absolutely and completely. Her presence is so South Austin.
I bought "Sol Power" the Wed morning after seeing/hearing her and it quickly became one of my top five favorite releases ever. I have heard few artists that can deliver something like "Trainfare Home" the way she can. And the fact that it was recorded live and raw at Railroad Blues in Alpine just makes it that much more special for this Almost Louisiana turned West Texas
musician.
This CD is amazing! I love her versatility and soul...
A friend of mine in New York introduced me to her CD. I have got to see her live now! Must get to Austin...
This ladies voice is awesome... I cannot listen to her cd without dancing around my living room. Midnight Pumpkin is the best cd I have bought in a very very long time!
