I used to be at "the dancehall" every Saturday night back in the day, and consider myself a pretty good connoisseur of country music. Let me tell you Granger, I have never heard anything as good as your music. I can only wish that one day I will be able to hear you live!! You are absolutely my favorite country artist of all time!
In an industry where genuine country music is hard to find, Granger, you put it back on the map! I remember growing up listening to pure country music and was heartbroken about this new country until I found your music. Granger, listen to me when I say you are incredible! I can't wait to hear more!
What has country music come to? Why does anyone country music artist today even put out music when there is Granger Smith. Granger Smith epitomizes the meaning of pure country music. Well, where do I begin...I love this kid like a brother, probably even more than that. It started way back a couple of years ago. I caught Granger doing his thing in College Station one night. I introduced myself and told him of my affections toward him. Luckily, the bar was nearly empty, so we drank a few drinks, had many laughs, and gradually familiarized ourselves with one another. Wouldn't you know it, we are both huge Elton John fans. As the night unfolded and I woke up in the bed with Mr. Smith the next morning, we began our journey together with social commentary. I encouraged Granger to come out, for our community can never have too many public voices. He said it was not the right time. We have since parted ways, so I do not know if he is still in the closet, but I do know that he is an ally. Granger is a hero because he represents all that is good with the gay community. He is very open minded, so check him out if you get the chance. I still love you and will miss you, Michael
