Went and saw Reckless Kelly here in March of '04. If you have never been here, you must experience it. I have never been to a bar to see a band where you are waiting in line for the bathroom and you are standing there talking to the band. It's very personable and it is just classic Texas. I feel like that place hasn't changed in the 130 years it has been there. Also, definitely check out the GristMill restaurant that is located directly behind it for some great open air dining...

Go see Jerry Jeff, Cory Morrow, Kevin Fowler, Kelly & Bruce, etc., and just take in Texas my friend. The experience of Gruene Hall is an awakening of what Texas is all about. A definite must...To boot, a cold Shiner Bock here is unlike any other you'll have anywhere else!
