OMG! This place is so awesome! Saw Austin Allsup there saturday night and he so ROCKED! The atmosphere is truly "island"... laid back but so friendly. The staff is GORGEOUS!!! Tracy, our waitress, was teriffic when we bought the band shots and everyone was super nice! The next time we head to Port A, we will definitely be at the Back Porch!!!

Recently, we went to the BPB to see Gary P. Nunn. We were in a party of 8 and we paid our $15 to get in. When we asked about leaving and returning we were told that the Door Attendant would remember our "smiles" and laughed it off. We got a table in the back corner and before the music started we could see the band. However once Gary started playing, the only way to see or HEAR him was to go to the restroom. The ladies room had only two stalls and one of them was out of order with a very large crowd. My 25yo son and his friend left the bar to go smoke a cigarette as a courtesy to those of us who don't smoke. The Door Attendant wouldn't let them back in. The boys stepped over the fence in the back to our "back corner table" and then one of the "owner/managers" tried to throw them out. After we made it clear that the offending party was their lack of door control, the guy offered us all a "round on the house." The round was never served to us, instead another lady (self-proclaimed co-owner/manager) then came over to the table to insult us. She started by telling us that in no way would she provide drinks for the two tables of people. Then she bashed her co-manager telling us he had no authority. Then she got confrontational and got in our faces leaning in over the table. All of this with us just explaining that ALL we wanted to do was listen to the music. Then she kept harrassing us at our table until we decided to leave (we couldn't hear the band anyway, too crowded)...as we tried to leave she wanted to "pay our bill". That lady is the worst manager/owner I have EVER seen. I would NEVER set foot in that bar again. They have a real problem with their traffic in and out of the door. If they decided they don't want to use any "form" of payment authentication (stamp, ticket, etc.) then they can't possibly continue to harrass people who are told they "can" leave but then they won't allow them back in.

My favorite bar anytime day or night. Saw Tommy Alverson last weekend to everyones surprise out of the audience came Augie Myers and his sqeeze box. What a night of Texas legends. Nothing like fishing, danceing,drinking and honky-tonking on the coast!!

one of the two best places on the island to catch a tune and a cold buster after a long hard day of catching a buzz. Great sound and ample breeze make it a great place to hang out.
