Seth james is an awinspireing musician. A while back seth played at new brawnfuls and from that moment on i have been teaching myself how to play blues and other genres. but seth was why i choose to play the guitar and i love blues, seth you rock
I bought both of Seth's CDs after seeing him play guitar at Billy Bob's recently. He didn't sing during this performance, but I have never seen such a fantastic guitar player. The CDs are awesome. He has a great voice for blues.
I'm stunned that there isn't a bigger following for this band. I caught them by sheer circumstance in Ft. Smith, AR on a business trip, and they were amazing. I bought the CD on the spot, and I listen to it all the time. I can't wait for the next album to be released. Buy this...you won't be disappointed.
The only reason I gave this album 4 instead of 5 stars is because I have seen the Seth James Band perform live many times; this is a poor example of their live show.
It is still an excellent album. I love the changes that have been made to "Sweet Things" since its debut as a studio cut on "Bad Luck & Trouble"...not that either version is superior, but this version kicks @$$.
When I heard the band was releasing a live album, I was hoping for some new original material, but the only Seth James-penned songs here are 3 songs from the debut album. In addition to those, we get 4 covers. They are strong covers, but if I picked 10 covers that I have heard them play, only one of these ("BlackJack") would make that cut.
Please keep in mind I did give this album 4 stars, so just because I vented a little doesn't mean you should hold back in purchasing this disc. Go for it!
