Bergstrom is on the site of the former Bergstrom Air Force Base, about 10 miles from downtown Austin. Airport traffic has worsened congestion at the dreaded Ben White Boulevard and IH-35 intersection, and don't look for that to improve tremendously anytime soon--construction on Ben White began in late 1999 and is still in effect. The routes provided in the links to the left give maps for most airport-bound travelers, but be sure and allow for extra travel time.
