Shady Grove opened its doors to customers in January of 1992. Nestled under the shade of a tall pecan grove just minutes from dowtown, the restaurant fast became an Austin favorite. Styled after the architecture made popular by the State Parks built in th 40's, the restaurant offers homey relaxed dining inside and out. Shady Grove's patio and juke box, as well as its food has been the recipient of many "Best of Austin" Polls. Shady Grove reflects Austin's appreciation of the outdoors and entertainment. Reminiscent of long summer nights at the drive in, the restaurant's Starlight Theater features Hitchcock classics, old westerns, sci-fi flicks and beach movies. The "Unplugged at the Grove" series brings the best of Austin's renowned live music and several hundred fans to the restaurant every Thursday Night in the Spring and Fall.
