Cannonball
Album Review
I'm a late bloomer to Pat Green and only latched on w/Wave on Wave. I really like Cannonball, lotsa catchy tunes and variety. This is my favorite cd of his. Good backyard bbq or camping music. I prefer the more commercial PG but I can understand why old PG fans don't like the newer stuff, not as country singer/songwriter like he used to be. Matter of taste.

I think I threw up a little in my mouth when I listened to Pat's latest excuse for a CD. WTF happended to that dude? Has he no shame? I used to have Pat Green bumper stickers plastered to my truck. I had hats, coozies, the whole nine yards. Now I would not be caught dead with any of that bullpoop. Stay in Nashville Pat. You are dead to me.

Some buddies and I were having a cookout the other day and we put in the old here we go album at gruene hall. I miss that old sound, back when he did real TEXAS country music instead of yankee country. He gets five stars for what he did here, but only one for what he's doing now.

Ok lets clear somethings up. If you are wondering why people in the state of Texas are so mad and confused by the last 2 or 3 albums by PG here are some reasons: #1. PG along with Robert E. Keen and others pretty much got us Texans around the ages of 20-30 into this Texas music to begin with #2. If you ever went to a PG concert when it was not that packed (or even packed) PG BASHED Nashville along with the whole industry. #3. If you have the balls to say that his new music is like his older then you are DEAF! Live @ Billybobs is one of the most passionate and deep live albums ever made. A song like Nightmare stomps all over cannonball...there is no comparison to those songs what so ever. So in conclusion we dont hate PG, there is no denying the mans talent. If anyone knows that its these anrgy Texans, but I guess no one sang it better than PG himself "who are you to judge me anyway".
