These is true blue straight-up Honky Tonk genius. From the Fun and Rowdy "Dead Skunk" and "All Bucked Up" to the slower sweeter "I Can't Help Myself". You won't believe your ears. I felt like I was in a Old Time Honky-Tonk the first time I listened to this. You will definately be doing yourself a favor pickin' this album up. If you like this one which I,m pretty positve you wil Pick up his other ones. "My Perfect World", "Live At The Sons", & "Comin' Around". They are all equally great.
This is destined to be one of the finest releases in 2004, for Texas or otherwise. Simply put, Ed Burleson created an astounding work of art with 'the cold hard truth'.
This is an excellent cd . every track reflects ed own country texas twang and esp . going home to texas is one of my faves . this is a must have if you love ed and honky tonk music...
ed burleson is one of the best honky tonker singers there is -i see him regular in plano and i can not get enough of him . he is texas country in every way
An all-time favorite, rowdy honky-tonkin' son of a gun
This is what country music should sound like. Can't wait to see him in concert, if he ever comes around.
I was totally blown away by Ed at the Larry Joe Taylor Festival. Some how I had been over-looking him all this time because you can't really appreciate a singer/songwriter until you see them perform live. He came and joined in with the guys playing at our campfire one night, which I thought was very cool, showing what an easy going guy he is. Ed has definitly found a new Fan!!
Since we don't have a new Ed CD yet, I'll just review Ed performing at the last 3 events I've seen him at. AWESOME!!! Ed is real. I can't say that about too many other "singer/songwriters" around here. I think you should actually be able to sing and write before you call yourself that. Ed does!
Great sound, great guy. You really need to see him live. The Live at the Son's CD is still stuck in my CD player and it been two weeks since I saw him live. Keep up the Texas honky tonk tradition.
