Ramblin' Man
This album is a Masterpiece! My favorite all time album! This is outlaw country at it's best! Waylon shines on all 13 tracks with the Waylors and lots of pedal steel by the great Ralph Mooney. The best songs are "Rainy Day Woman", "Last Letter" "Cloudy Days", "I Can't Keep My Hands Off of You" and "Amanda". Best album ever recorded in the history of music!

Lonesome, On'ry And Mean (Original)
Five stars, Waylon's second best, right behind Honky Tonk Heroes. This album is a classic!

Waylon Jennings
Artist Review
I saw Waylon in Littlefield Texas one summer night. That's where he grew up...small town 30 miles from Lubbock, of a little over 2000. He was at this little dumpy corner gas station in a big fancy car. It was late evening and I didn't even have an idea of who he was because I was around about 17 at the time and I was into Disco. Man I let a good thing get by me. He was awesome. I also saw his wife Jesse, and his son, Shooter. It just never crossed my mind who they REALLY were...or who they were destined to be someday. His brother or uncle owned the gas station I heard later - I was just driving through the backroads on my way back to college and stopped for a tank of gas.

Waylon Jennings
Artist Review
This is a two cd set done for charity, headed by Cody Canada (CCR). They are titled Friday and Saturday. Friday is the better of the two in my opinion. The artist certainly are not Waylon and it shows. But they are a great many of the up and coming favorites as well as a few of the good ole boys. Take the opportunity to read the Waylon biography. He did more in his career than you will ever imagine. This cd is a great way to get aquainted with Jennings music. But don't expect too much out of it. As I said, it's not Waylon. Some of the artist include CCR / Doug Moreland / Randy Rogers / Hubbard / I think Billy Joe Shaver? / Susan Gibson / Mike McClure / Eleven Hundred Springs / Cooder Graw List goes on. Musical quality lacks a bit, but its for a good cause.

Wanted! The Outlaws
orginal had 11 tracks, you get a bunch of good extra stuff. tompall glaser and willie along with jessie colter are included in this album. its a good repenstation of the progressive country music at that time. think this was done in 1976.

this is not a true waylon recording but his songs done by various artists. if you want the real thing , go for songs by waylon himself.

Waylon Live - Expanded - 2 CDs
For fans of Waylon Jennings, this is about the greatest gift that could be offered (unless someone wants to toss those two huge box-sets my way!!). This double cd set consists of two shows, in their entirety, that were the basis for 76's "Waylon Live" release. The original release had only 9 songs or so, and this new expanded version has 42 tracks over the course of two complete shows in '74 in Dallas and Austin. Waylon at the top of his game when the whole Austin/Outlaw thing was beginning to soar. The song selection is incredible, the band kicks ass, and Waylon is in fine voice. This, in my opinion, is the finest representation of Waylon Jennings we have available to us. Get this and know what it was like to be a part of a scene and a time that has no equivalent except for the days when Hank Williams Sr. was rocking country stages all over the U.S. I miss Waylon Jennings. Losing Paycheck and Cash was a very, very sad thing, but I felt a little something more akin to personal loss when Waylon left us. To reflect upon the words of a George Jones song, There will be no one to fill the shoes of the "Outlaw who walks through Jessi's dreams".

Red River Tribute
I can only give this album 3 stars because it's about half good, and half not so good. . . First of all, I really appreciated Doug Moreland's opening song and his good spirit when he decided to re-cut the tune. . . very funny, very real. Dub Miller talks too much smack. . . does this guy think he's funny? The most disappointing thing about this album is that it gets off to a bad start, because the 3rd track is one of the most awful versions of a good tune that I've ever had to sit through: Blue Edmonds definitely gets the award for the worst performance of "Never Could Toe The Mark." It was a toss up between him and Mike McClure for the shittist "performance," but since Blue totally missed what Waylon Jennings represented - which was country music - he gets the douche bag award. Some of these people on this record don't sound like they've ever sang a note in their life. I mean, listen to Honeybrown - yikes! Cooder Graw stumbles through one of the most soulless versions of "Rainy Day Woman." How can you pull that song off without a steel guitar? Gary P. Nunn does an OK job, but I couldn't get over the out of tune element-it was just hard to listen to. They should have called this the Waylon Jennings/Billy Joe Shaver tribute, because there's at least 3 tunes penned by the living legend. I was pleasantly surprised with The Burtschi Bros, Red Dirt Rangers, Susan Gibson, & Stoney Larue - mostly due to the fact that I hadn't really heard too much about them. I thought they did very tasteful versions of the late great country legend. I think it's great that there was a good vibe created on this album, despite some major musical blunders and "artists" that don't know a thing about being musical whatsoever. Also, this album benefits The American Diabetes Association. All in all, this album has a lot more heart than the Nashville Waylon tributes did. There are some very talented individuals on this project, there are some that didn't belong any where near a guitar or a microphone, but in the end, a job well done by Cody and everyone that had a part in organizing & executing the event.

Red River Tribute
One of the best tribute albums I've ever heard. Each song feels like a Waylon song even though the artists put their own spin on each one. I got this mainly for the tracks by Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Randy Rogers Band, Seth James Band, and Doug Moreland. However, I was impressed by almost all the tracks, especially Billy Joe Shaver, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and Susan Gibson.
