After finally recieving the CD, I must agree that it is one of the best that I have heard. You all need to come up north to Nebraska. I know I will be there for sure.
Keep on doin what you are doin
After living in Amarillo for 6 months, I have to say that the only good thing to come out of Texas is Harris & Ryden. "Here to Jackson" is the only cd in my pickup. It would be great if they could play in Amarillo during the 2002 World Ranch Championship Rodeo in November...hint, hint.
I like it...don't know what to compare it to...guess that's why.
If you haven't heard these guys, you don't know what you are missing. Real powerful songs with a down to earth approach. Chris and Stephen have incredible voices and when you hear them together, it's just plain addicting. They put on an awesome show if you can see them live. These guys will go all the way to the top.
These guys are wonderful...the band combines free flowing, upbeat music while maintaining a real life feel that the public can relate to. They are capable of a wide range of sounds from happy "rockabilly" tunes to melancholy laments...the band is truly filled with untapped talent.
I first heard H & R when they opened for Gary P. Nunn at The Firehouse in Houston, Texas. It was my birthday and we had had a table reserved. We walked up to it and this guy was sitting there. I said "excuse me that is our table". It wound up being Ryden sitting there killing time until it was time to change for the show. He was realy polite and a genuinely nice person.
When they took the stage my friends asked "Who are these guys, are they any good?" After a set we knew they were going to be something special. I couldn't wait until their CD came out. I wasn't disapointed by it. The harmonies are excellent, the lyrics are great, and there is not a bad song on the album. The only thing better is seeing them in person.
The Harris and Ryden band writes many great songs songs and knows how to sing them. If you get a chance buy the CD and you will see what I mean
I saw H&R at Momo's in Austin one Friday night and really liked their music. I went out and bought the cd the next day. It is an awesome cd, a must have! I can't wait for their next album, and for them to post the guitar tab and lyrics on the web!
"Here to Jackson" is a definite hit. It's one of the few CDs that I play beginning to end. I like every song on the album. H&R's style is captivating. Their live performances are also excellent. They put lots of energy and passion into what they do. I just wish they posted their guitar tabs on the Web.
