Heard these guys at the Blue Light in Lubbock last night. WOW!! what a show. These guys put on a hell of a good show. Great music an lyrics, lots of energy...watch these guys they will hit the big charts before long.
I love this album! I can listen to it for hours on end. Their sound is extremely hypnotic and puts me in a good mood! These guys are the best...and they deserve the best!
Im a big fan of all types of music and iv been seeing alot about this band. I went and saw them live here in lubbock and pictured them as more of a cover band plaing hardcore texas country. I decided to buy the cd and it was nothing like i had expected. The song writting was great but I thought I had put in a John Denver album. I dont want to step on anyones toes but if you think your going to the music you hear in there live shows on there cd you might be disapointed, but then again you may like rockymountin musice with a bit of texas mixed in it. Too each is his own...
I bought "Here to Jackson" at their show last week. There are more good songs on this CD than just about any other CD I own. Thier style is a cross between Gary P. Nunn (great Texas Music), John Denver (Mountain themes, voice pitch), and Bellamy Brothers (excellent harmonization).
"The Real Ones" is my new favorite song.
Good job with the album guys. I'll see you next time you're here.
Great sound, very different and unique. Ryden, keep up the good songwriting.
My cousin has turned me on to yet another amazing group. I usually agree with her on music, but this band...WOW. I have never agreed more about anything. When I was in Austin visiting, she took me to see Harris and Ryden. They are awesome live, and the mandolin player is phenomenal. I later found out that he had not even picked up a mandolin until 6 months ago--can you even believe it? All of these guys can sing AND play. That is a rarity. Most groups can either do one or the other. However, they have all that plus a great harmony going on, and I would definitely recommend getting their new CD. It is a sound that we here in "THE" state have been longing for for quite a while now. These guys as a whole are a group you really can't afford to miss. Quit stalling..go..get the CD.
Great CD... Great Guys...
These guys are all right. They are seem nice, and are good live....although I didn't care for the cd a whole lot. No offense
I first saw Harris and Ryden at Mango's in Austin last summer, and I was immediately taken by their lyrics and musical talent. I was surprised to find that they hadn't even made an album yet. Well now they have here to Jackson and it is easily one of the best albums I have ever owned. I like to go see the high energy live shows of artists like Pat, Cory, Roger, Jack Ingram etc., but I'll take the great sounds of the Harris and Ryden band over them any day. The album is great, and seeing the band live will only add to your enjoyment of their songwriting and musical talents. If you do catch them live you'll also find that they are some of the nicest, most down to earth entertainers around.
