Johnny Cash
Artist Review
Hello, I'm Joseph Cash. I don't know how anyone can top the acomplishments of Johnny Cash. My birth name is F. Joseph Ralston, but I've been singing Johnny Cash songs since I was seven years old. His voice captured my attention at a very younge age and has been there for more than 46 years. I now sing in clubs occassionally and I've been told that I sound the most like Johnny than anyone that has ever been heard singing his songs. I guess I idalized The Man In Black so that I developed the voice over time. I only wish That Johnny's Health was good enough for him to put on more concerts. I would skip work even if I lost my job as an Electrical Engineer to go and see each one that he performed. The thing that amazes me is the amount of very young folks that love his music. I have seen a few young folks that didn't and hadn't heard his songs until I would sing one in a club somewhere and then they would ask me all about the song and the man. I've had young girls ask me to do Ring Of Fire over and over again. Some have even told me that they have gone out and bought a Johnny Cash CD after hearing me sing some of his songs. The young and old and all those in between ages still love the voice of The Man In Black. F. Joseph Ralston Cash---the other man in black

Cash, Couldn't you give him him 10 stars...Compare him to all the other five star, lonestar anthem crooners Texans are rating with their highest regards and Cash stands a-LONE as a STAR and a Talent that even Jason Boland can't stand with...Cash has been the king of country way before Haggard and Owens and Garth and George S came along for the ride. Jones and Cash have country down, have rock down and gospel down and comedy down and Texas music down and Missouri music down... and cowboy music (check out cash's 2 record True west sound in the 60's) and outlaw music and rockabilly music and blues and... Somehow we started defining music as types and ignored what is good, bad, great and poor...when people rate Jason Boland a 5 star artist Cash must be a 10, when they rate adam caroll a 5 star artist raise the Cash star level to twenty... And since I would rate Jason Boland as an awesome singer and songwriter and performer after hearing one cd and place him above all Nashville is throwing up to country music fans of Texas, Missouri and other Western arenas; then Cash must be a 10 star artist. Of course I have most of Cash on vinyl and have been listening to him since I was 7 out Oregon way...You might claim I'm slightly biased. But if the standard you want to rate artists with is only 5 stars, perhaps Boland who is just getting started would rate out a 4.5 to Texans and a 9 to us Johnny Cash fans. (Note: check out Rockabilly Blues album and rate that...It didn't make Nashville stand up and cheer, but it is downright awesome) (Second Note: Where is Waylon and Willie in all this, well their the Texas standard bearers along with the Flatlanders and Earle and maybe just maybe Jason Boland if he has half the career Johnny Cash has had...)

Johnny Cash is an awesome songwritter. his songs are classic from burning ring of fire to the General Lee. When him and willie, waylon, and the boys get together good things happen.
