I've seen just about everyone in the Texas music scene over the last 4 years, and Jason clearly stands out as one of the purest vocalists out there, not to mention his guitar skills. This guy is not nasally, hoarse,or a grunge-style screamer. He can actually sing! His range is effortless and accurate, all while playing lead guitar, awesome. The songs are solid Texan, well written, and entertaining.Talent and substance remain long after the gonzo marketing of fluff.

Something I Dreamed
It's good to know real Texas country music is still alive and well. Jason Allen makes you want to hit the dance floor, especially with "Lucky Arms". He's good.

On Something I Dreamed album, Cryin for their Mamas really tells it like it is ! If you like honky tonk dance music folks, this is THE album to buy. I first heard it on kvet and had to have it. Makes me feel like I am at Gruene Hall. Jason Allen and Clay Blaker breathe new life into Texas Honky Tonk once again. Keep up the good work !

Jason ... you are the real deal amigo ... No BS, no drugs, no shady deals ... just the real deal bro ... remember the ice house, Hydes Cafe in Old Town Spring, Lake Houston Marina, Aubrey's on I45 in "the hood, The famous Cedar Lounge - better known as the cheater lounge, Dance City ... we could go on and on but I got things to do man ... really, the crux of the matter is playin' and singing when nobody cares ... driving, settin' up, sound check, and playing like ther's no tomorrow cause' that's what you do man ... the great feeling inside when you know you made somebody happy for a few brief hours in a place you wouldn't take your mamma. You did it man ... and you did it the right way. The only thing I regret is losing the demo CD I bought from you several years back ... you cut it in New Caney with Mike Callie on fiddle at Roy Mullins studio ... great stuff man. Thanks for playing "Wouldn't it be nice" for me at Hydes last year. I had no idea your mom had only been gone a few days ... It was her favorite song you did ... cause she wrote it ... but you played it and sang it like she was there with ya' man ... true pro at work I guess ... good luck my friend ...

This album is wonderful. The only problem is that is doesn't catch the total vocal ability that Jason has. This is a must have for all music lovers.
