Fantastic. Saw them at a skynyrd show and loved them. Bought the album. New second favorite band.

CCR is some damn fine music. I can't say that this is their best one yet, but purple is excellent. oh and hey did anyone else notice that james is kind of a douche-bag?

Alright.I'm not sure what's happening in today's frat rock music anymore - I've read some other reviews, which confuses me even more because it seems that the few folks that left reviews must have never gone to their college composition classes. "These guys rock," - That's not an opinion that supported by any arguments whatsoever so here's mine: The first time I ever heard Cross Canadian Ragweed I was sitting with my back to the stage at Adairs in Dallas Texas, with a girlfriend of mine. I had brought her there on a Sunday, hopefully so we could sit in talk in relative silence. Sunday typically is a slow night, but Cross Can Rag packed it out. At the time I didn't know who they were, or their name, all I knew was that they sounded as loud and obnoxious as 90% of the bands that waltz thorough that joint. How surprised I was to learn a couple of years later that the crappie band that ruined my night was now on CMT. I suppose that they're giving away record deals now days. All right. About Purple: While their earlier albums sounded very amateur as far as production is concerned, the Purple CD sounds light years better than previous attempts, which begs the question: "How much can you polish a turd?" I mean, if the musicianship is mediocre at best and the lyrics fail to make sense, ("You keep on running boy, you run yourself in the ground, You're always 17 in your home town." What does that mean?) how much different are these guys from the band I heard banging on their pots and pans two years ago at Adairs? Side note: Just for all the Ragweed and Nashville music fans - Did you know that the majority of the recorded music on the radio today has be altered and corrected my means of computer in order to clean up the mistakes of the artists. These guys have allegedly been around for about 8 years, and they sure sound like it. Thankfully the computer age of recording techniques, and a good looking front man is a sure fire plan for ultra stardom. I have to do my job correctly and on my own or I get fired, why should we expect anything less from musicians? Wake up Texans!

This album is another great one put out by these guys. If any of ya'll read this... what's up Cody, Grady, Jeremy, Shannon, Randy, and everyone else? Im cool. Anyways, a definite must buy for anyone wanting to hear fresh music in a world of blandness (i.e. Nashville). If you see these guys, buy them a beer, give em a smoke and let the music flow through you. You wont be disapointed. Peace. Brian
