About 1995 at the age of 15, JT started "chasing that dream behind the neon sign" playing in blues and rock clubs to fantastic audiences all over the South and ultimately New York City a few years later. JT, however, was never satisfied with the lack of country influence in his sets. He decided to drop the formula that kept him on stage for a far more rewarding original Texas sound. Drawing from influences that stretch from Tex-Mex, country, blues, funk, folk, and classic rock, he has developed a sound all his own. With a mixture of rocking Texas blues and roadhouse country, JT has created a thang that can only be described as Texas Music. A renowned performer, he was dubbed Elvis meets Jimi Hendrix while in the NYC clubs. His music though is more of a hybrid of ZZtop / Willie Nelson, or SRV / Bocephus. The lyrical content of his songwriting makes you realize the miles he carries with him even at such a young age. His words ring true for any listener at any age. Whether it's the irony of his saying goodbye to innocence and hello to life, the autobiographical feelings of an artist close to success on the road while worried subconsciously for his family at home, or quite simply a snapshot of life put into words, there is no mistaking the talent of this young man from South Texas. "Blues was born in the country and country was born in the blues. When they met in the Lone Star State, the flood began. That's my home."

I was on a business trip to Austin this week and by chance walked into Friend's Bar downtown on 6th Street Wednesday night. Halfway thru my first beer JT and the band started playing. I was completely blown away. These guys were beyond fantastic. Skilled musicianship, showmen, flawless blues. JT, come on out to Southern California where I live and show them how the blues should be played!!!

This guy is a major tool! Despite the fact he over-plays everything... he has no tone, rhythm, or solid foundation to his music! It sounds something similar to a cat puking up a hairball mixed with a crappy gaageband! I wouldn't spend a nickel to go watch this pitiful excuse for a band! what a bunch of wanna-be HACKS!

JT and company have been playing regular at Nuno's in N Austin. All three are great musicians. I prefer more original and fewer covers, but A-Town will spoil you like that. We'll see him tonight.

I used to jam with this dude in our first band. He could play then, and he can damn sure play now. He can tear up a guitar, and it's amazing he still has fingertips....

J.T. Coldfire is the best - he should be a star! He is better than Garth Brooks and he is great!

I've seen JT and band twice now. Once at Apache Pass on the river stage, so it wasn't up close, but they blew me away. This last time was at the Ranch in Rockdale. Talk about up close and personal! He came down on the floor and burned his guitar up! God, he was fabulous! There's nothing that he can't play or sing. Everone needs to go see him live. Blues, country, rock - he aces them all.

We 1st saw J.T. in when he was 21 years old. We have since seen him 4 times. We live in Oklahoma so we don`t get a chance to see them much, but when they get within 4 or 5 hours of here We`re there ! This is a must see band. I`ve seen guitar players from the big bands to the small honky tonkers & J.T. could play for any of them. Lee & Ralphy the tiny drummer are a great supporting cast too. These guys will make it !
