Miranda Lambert Visits Former High School

Miranda Lambert recently took time off to stop by her old high school in Lindale, Texas. The singer thanked the students for their participation in a fundraiser to benefit victims of the flooding in Nashville last spring.

Lindale students raised $3,600 in change as part of the "Nickels for Nashville" campaign and earned a signed plaque as a token of appreciation from Lambert. The school has also been active in Miranda's Cause for the Paws campaign, which raises money for animal adoption.

Her school, in fact, was the first to turn in the money they raised for the animal charity. It's a cause that's close to Miranda's heart and, according to the singer, she is touched by people's willingness to help.

"It is the best feeling in the world to know we are helping in the fight to treat and find homes for abandoned and abused animals," Miranda told Music Row magazine before this year's event.
