Wild, Free, & Reckless
I had got this CD based on many people I had heard saying this guy was something great. A throw back to old style country. I liked the sound of that thought. Wayne has the voice of Hank Williams and that is cool by me. The only thing that got me was that on virtually all of the songs on the CD he had almost the same exact delivery and style as Hank. It's one thing if your voice sounds like Hank, but to do the same exact style as Hank seemed overwhelmingly unoriginal. There were some songs on the CD i liked but I couldn't get over how he would not vary his style from the beloved Williams.

Houston Marchman
Artist Review
Houston Marchman is a fantastic songwriter/singer. He deserves any and every ounce of praise he gets. He deserves a lot more praise also. His voice makes me think of Bruce Springsteen growing up in the southwest and being a cowboy. He's gritty and raw. His words melt together some well and the feelings he makes you feel are unreal. Truly a Texas treasure. I suggest that everyone gives this man a listen.

Roger Creager
Artist Review
Roger Creager is a first rate musician, songwriter, and person. His album is as honest as a hand shake. Remember, all of us are a bunch of dreamers in the same boat. God help us find port. peace

Roger Creager
Artist Review
For two people to bicker about who is better live wise or anything else is pretty dumb anyway. They are both great and accept each for what they are, nothing more but two different artist trying to make there own mark in this great thing we call Texas Country Music..nobody is better than anybody else and just leave it there Johnny Hambone... We need to count our blessings that there are many diferent great young TEXAS country artist out there to listen to...Besides that do you think anybody cares what people say anyway, all they have to do is judge for themselves.....thank God for Texas !

Artist Review
No one can compare to "The Man" when it comes to putting on a live show. Believe me, I've seen a lot of them; REK, Jack Ingram, Reckless Kelly, Pat Green, etc. While each puts on a great show and writes and performs much great music they cannot and do not compare to a JJW live show. The story of his life is played in each show, and he always succeeds in reaching the audiance and making them feel a part of the song.

Reckless Kelly
Artist Review
Reckless Kelly is far and away the best Texas Country band out there. The have so much energy and you just get pumped up when you hear their music. They have started this new style of music. What shall we call it. When most people hear RK, I think they are blown away in confusion, but after a while they are hook'ed like the rest of it. Hick Rock is what will call it.

Cross Canadian Ragweed
Artist Review
After you go and buy "Pearl Snaps" by Jason Boland, you need to get "Live and Loud" and "Carney" by Cross Canadian Ragweed as your second and third choices. "Live and Loud at the Wormy Dog" has the most energy of any album I have ever heard. It makes REK's No. 2 Live CD feel like a Barry Manilow project in comparison. If you are reading these reviews and are like me, then you are thinking about adding something to your collection. Do yourself a favor and buy Jason Boland and Cross Canadian Ragweed, you won't regret it.

Pearl Snaps
If you think Roger Creager, Owen Temple, Cory Morrow, or even Pat Green is good, you better buy this CD. Jason Boland and the Stragglers are simply the best thing to come out of Oklahoma since I-35!!!!

Roger Creager
Artist Review
Noramally I would never participate in a who is better who is worse contest, but I just couldn't watch the continuous "Roger Creager is God" comments. I mean if you already own Jason Boland and the Stragglers and Cross Canadian Ragweed, maybe Creager is good enough to fill the remainder of your CD changer with, but compared to Jason Boland his lyrics are VERY WEAK. Don't get me wrong, he is as good as Cory Morrow and Owen Temple, but that ain't saying too much. And his live show? I saw him play in Amarillo and he couldn't hold Cody Canada's (Cross Canadian Ragweed) guitar. Do yourself a favor and ONLY BUY ROGER CREAGER if you already own Jason Boland. If you don't own Jason Boland click on his name and buy his CD NOW!!!!!
