God bless this man. he has brought inspersation to young asspiring(i don't know how to spell it) musicians like myself. if you love guy clark as much as i do, check out Harris and Ryden. keep up the great work, GUY!
greatest singer songwriter ever. Period. Desperados waiting for a train is the best song ever
Does this man ever make a bad CD? This is What Texas Is All About! You can't even judge his new Cd At the expense of his old ones because he is just to good! His Latest CD is Officialy the Cd of the year if my opinion! I can be anywhere and all of the sudden his raspy voice and down home tunes just come to the forefront of my mind! And I don't just mean THE DARK, But COLD DOG SOUP and...Well his entire catalog. This music is good to sit out on the front porch with the lights off under the blue glow of a full Texas moon, and just listen to a music genius. Everything fits into place with tight precision.Robert Earl Keen is my favorite artist, But he is haveing a hard time keeping that spot with Guy Clark Close on his heels! Do yourself a favor and give the man a listen, you'll be glad you did.
great album; every song evokes emotion and enthusiasm
I just enjoyed a GuyClark show at the Sons of Herman Hall in Dallas. Although I have been a fan since 1975 and this was the 5th time I've seen Guy, he just keeps getting better. He is by far one of the most talented Texas singer/songwriters and no one can sing his songs the way he does. He doesn't make it this way very often, so see him if you can. If you missed out, listen to "Keepers" for a taste of Guy's music.
KEEPERS, by far Clark's best album, demonstrates the heart and soul of Texas music. It is the truest form of Clark, with songs ranging from the upbeat "South Coast of Texas" to the passionate "Let Him Roll." Whether you are new to Clark's music or you are simply looking for a great CD, Keepers is an absolute Lone Star Music essential.
