I stumbled over this cd in Hastings and I bought it...what do I have to lose? I am so glad that I did! I am going to have to get to a show to see these guys live...I am sure that they are 100% better in person! You guys rock...you should be in the spotlight!!!

The worst band to ever come from Lubbock, and there have been bad ones. Shane should get a job changing people's oil. Leave music to those that are in it to actually say something worth a shit. That goes for all in TX music. Willie, Waylon, Robert Earl, Jerry Jeff, and a handful of others made awesome music....too many people in TX aren't looking into themselves to see what moves them or what they want to write, they are just copying the groundbreaking work of others to profit and understandably to have success. But is it right? No. We look to artists in TX music like they are heroes, when they are unoriginal and run of the mill. I have played various TX music records for people in other states and they all say they sound the same....like a rip off of Willie or Waylon or Robert Earl. On a bigger scale: think of the reaction countless bands got for copying Nirvana and the other Seattle bands....they were discredited, booed, and panned in reviews nationwide.....the people wouldn't stand for someone coopting such an original sound. Why do we allow ourselves to be cheated in TX? I demand more from my music than that....I want to see the next Willie, Waylon, Buddy Holly, etc.....it can't happen until we stop propping up these con artists and closing the door on real artists.....we are creating another Nashville here in TX and it is dangerous ground we are treading....would Willie Nelson surivive as a songwriter if he was just starting out in the bars of TX today? Doubtful. No one would appreciate his subtle jazziness, his off kilter vocals....he'd get replaced by Wade Bowen, Randy Rogers, or Shane Rogers. I am not trying to preach, but I've spent years pondering this....and I think we are reaching a breaking point....how many ticks can suck on the same dog without killing the dog? I think Shane Rogers is a nice guy, his band is full of nice guys. I only ask Shane to write like himself....I will respect that. Pray for TX music.

Shane Rogers Band, Keep getting wilder, keep getting drunk, keep speeking your mind, thats what makes you incredibly fucking AWSOME. You guys are gonna be the biggest thing Texas has ever seen. Keep up the outastanding work.

I saw that you were playing the Golden Light on Saturday the 9th.....it was posted on Galleywinter...all the bad things that have been sad have really peaked my intrested! I know that you were a hot topic there for awhile and looks like people are very passionate either way that they feel about you!! I look forward to seeing for myself!

I am so glad that your fourth grade daughter explained to you a work cited page......If you had stuck around long enough with Shane you would know that we are waiting on the real CD to be released in Feburary. The first CD was meant to be a party CD. If yu had been to a shw lately you would know that there was alot of new material that the band is doing. As far as Shane's song writer friend....Kurt you rock and I love your songs. Name dropping......Shane mentions other bands in his songs....he talks about playing with them....how is that name dropping. Please grow up and get a hobby....Miss Piggy told me to say that!!!

the cd is bad....very bad. when i heard it i threw up in my mouth just a little bit. you're trying to cash in on the texas music scene...three years ago. there's more to write about than doing weed and ass. your liner notes read more like a works cited page. for the fans that didn't go to college a works cited page gives credit to other people for using their material in your work. quit name dropping in songs, just because you know their name doesn't make them your friend, George Bush told me to write that. if you want to be take seriously put out a serious cd. your not going to get played on the radio if every song has a cuss word in it. normally i don't write reviews like this, but your buddy who thinks he is the greatest song writer in the world needs to keep his mouth shut. wanting to fight over what is said on the review board is childish, grow up. if you can't handle criticism your in the wrong business. i've wasted enough of my time on this. have a great day.
