To whomever was at the RRIH show, I would like to know what songs the band had covered. When I saw them in McQueeney, I think that they played 6 covers in a 2.5 hour period with no break. One of the songs was Slim's "parody" of Harold Lloyd Jenkins a.k.a. Conway Twitty's song "I'd Love to Lay you Down." That does not count as a cover. Typically they will cover "Copperhead Road", "City of New Orleans" (which everyone and their mom covers and the BPM version is played in heavy rotation in Dallas) and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry." So, I ask, what part of their show really is making them a "cover band." It sounds like some people just have a major Jones for hating on the band. But, everyone is entitled to their opinions. See you guys in Ft. Worth.

To Michael and his "friend" By my count, back porch mary played 6 cover songs at rr, in a three+ hour set with no breaks. I don't think that makes them a cover band...I think that makes you a liar.

Well if reviews are what we are looking for around here then; I was with Michael last weekend and my 1st and ONLY experience with this band is simply put: WEAK COVER BAND Be original boys. Or at least be Good at someone else's music.

No Problem. I thought this was a Review. I guess only Good comments are allowed around here....As for being Lame...Well I think we all know who holds that honor.

Dear Michael We get it, you don't like BPM. By continuing to come here and bash them, you are making yourself look lame. You no longer appear objective. You appear to be someone that has a personal vendetta rather than someone actually critiquing the merits of the band. Grow up, review the band and go on with life.

Well Scott, I took a few min. out of my weekend and went over to RR Ice House on Sat. night. Fortunately I did not pay to get in the door. I did listen outside for a little while before leaving with a total sence of waisted time. The Music was the same as before, Cover Songs, Cover Songs and a Lame attempt at Originality. Only this time it had the added drawback of me being Sober....If I recall the first time I heard BPM I was totally SMASHED, and from then on I had not drank very much at the shows. If I ever have the misfortune to be in the same place with them again I won't make the mistake of being Sober, They Sound MUCH better when you have your head in a toilet getting rid of $30.00 in beer and a $3.00 Hamburger.....

Well done with the new album fellas. Can't wait til you make it back up to Minneapolis. Really cool to see that Cody Braun played fiddle on a couple of the tunes.

Dear Michael, Wow! For someone who has only dealt with the band "in passing", you have very strong opinions. I would guess that you have strong personal issues with the band, or at least someone in it. I've seen the band in the last month, and the show was great. I think that their new CD has really great songs, and the lyrics are obviously from the heart. Have you listened to it? I doubt that you have. This is a band that has had the same members for years. They have toured all over the country and made four good CDs. The fact that they are still standing and making music is a testament to their collective characters. I would like to invite you to their show this Saturday at River Road Ice House if you are in the area. I'll even pay your way in, and buy you a drink. I think you will be surprised that the band you thought had "high energy" and played lots of "good music" is still right here. Every band has their good days and bad, and I will admit that Mike, their singer, does wear his heart on his sleeve and it is apparent when he is in a bad mood, but that is part of the honesty that I love about them. Let me know if you are interested in my offer. I appreciate your review, but I would like for you to give me a chance to prove you wrong.
