Power, sincerity and conviction are hallmarks of Brandon Jenkins the songwriter and Brandon Jenkins the singer.  He has made a name for himself as a songwriter able to tackle all slices of life with equal vigor.  As a vocalist, Jenkins possesses a country twang that crushes the metaphorical crutch of not judging a book by its cover that many folks would use to describe his appearance. It is unwise to simply dismiss Brandon Jenkins as a tattooed guitar wielding giant, although that is certainly part of his personality.  To truly understand Brandon Jenkins you must realize that he is a thoughtful and soul baring artist sharing his craft with audiences nightly and on each of his records.

Brandon Jenkins has been breaking musical ground and stereotypes since the mid 1990’s and continues to get better with each passing year.  In addition to his success as a solo artist, he is well known for his writing and co-writing of hit songs for other artists, most notably:  Stoney LaRue, Bleu Edmondson and Cross Canadian Ragweed.  Jenkins’ talents in all areas of music have allowed him to reach legendary status among Red Dirt aficionados, all while still being in the prime of his career.

His live shows, whether acoustic or featuring his rocking electric trio, are a spellbinding display of music mixing force and subtlety.  The diverse nature of his song catalog and the versatile dynamics of his musicianship allow him to conquer any audience he is in front of.

With a new album set for release in April 2011, Jenkins is poised to further cement his place as one of the foundations of the entire Red Dirt music scene and the larger Americana scene.  Paired with a determined and ambitious tour schedule in support of the new album, audiences will continue to witness Brandon Jenkins break models and shed labels in his quest for musical dominance.

Have most of the Jenkins albums... they're all great and this is the best one yet. Brandon has written so many songs covered by other Texas artists... he is becoming legendary and I think it's great he's included many of the artists he's written with on his record.

Or maybe them giving him tribute for all the badass songs he's written for them? Never figured out why people with a personal axe to grind post here. Passive-aggressive personalities I guess.

Brandon Jenkins is a legend? Where? All this CD amounts to basically is him giving thanks to all the bands he's opened up for.

I am waiting for this cd to arrive, but just heard White Van Blues. Women aren't big in the Texas/Reddirt scene, but as a "chick singer" myself, I have to tell you Amanda Brown kicks ass on this song. You go girl!

Brandon has a right to speak his mind too. Agree, or disagree, it doesn't matter. The song should at least make you think a little, which for some, will be a new concept. In the end, he gets people talking about his music, and what artist doesn't want that? This is a solid CD throughout, and the concept of collaborating with other Red Dirt singers is a fresh one. Brandon is an icon, and ANY song on here is far better than most of the CRAP played on radio.

Some people like mindless entertainment...some people like to be intellectually stimulated. This cd is for both. Buy it, you won't be sorry.

I don't listen to Brandon for political reasons either and also have the right not to listen to him or like him anymore, which is the stance I’ve taken. That's why I USED to enjoy him. But when musicians write songs about politics I think it doesn't belong on the radio as good pure simple entertainment. I like music that makes me feel good and takes my mind off the horrible things that are going on in the world momentarily. When they throw their political opinions in the mix, I just don’t want to listen to them anymore. Don’t care for it; don’t like it.

This cd may not be for everybody. It's not for those who: (1) like the same style from an artist over and over. (2)want a "party" cd (3)believe that artists should not have an opinion about what is going on in the world...and definitely should not practice free speech (4)have never shared a bond with others through the love of art...this happens to be music, but it could be computer programming. If you love this genre of music, enjoy diversity, love to hear people who love each other do what they do best, and want something to listen to that makes you think...this cd is for you.
