This is one of the best Texas Country singer songwriters out right know and there is no way that you will be upset with his new album Shifting Gears. It is one of the CD that you can pop in and listen too all day. The only thing better is getting a chance to go and catch him live.

I don't know WHO I like best in Texas Music??? You have to be an idiot to say, so and so is the best. One thing I do believe Cooder Graw comes as close to capturing the soul of Texas Music as anybody. Love Texas Music!!!

Shifting Gears is excellent! Cooder Graw has really grown as a band. Every song is well put together and fun to listen to. Thanks Cooder for making great music.

Shifting Gears
Album Review
This is the best damn CD, I've heard in a LONG time. Mostly all new songs, with a studio version of Willies Guitar and a remake of one of their first songs - County Colors. The new songs written by Matt Martidale are like an evolution, they have come so far since their first CD...Before this CD, I always liked them live better than in a studio . This CD has taken a great live band and brought out a great studio sound. Guest appearances by Cindy Cashdollar, Brendon Anthony and Pat Green just add nicely to the CD, but it's the lyrics and Martindale's abililty to "turn a phrase" that sticks in your mind. This band has its finger on the pulse of the West Texas High Plains. "Sheriff out to edge of the county... throw you right out, shiftin gears" You can just see the tumbleweeds blow across the Illano Estacto.

The only thing that beats a Cooder Graw CD is a live show. Matt Martindale is one of the best live performers I've ever seen. You won't leave their show disappointed.

Went to see the band here in Houston ... way too good for the club that hosted them ... Like everyone says here - go see em' while you still can. Just a bunch of nice guys that love what they do for a living and it comes through in their live show. They have got a tight sound and great timing ...

"Shifting Gears" is a collection of very talented written songs by Matt Martindale! The collaboration of songs speaks for itself, and each song is marked by the style of the Texas panhandle band. Cooder Graw has out done themselves on their 3rd CD.......it is definitely the High-Octane Loud Country that we all appreciate to have on while hitting the Texas Hwy. The lyrics speak to you, but the band hits the notes with the splendid mix between lead guitar to steel guitar, to the drums and right at ya on the bass. It is just perfectly done!!!! Get yourself a copy of this CD, it is a must........Matt, Joe, Kelly, Paul, and Jim have done us all proud by providing a CD that never gets old, it just keeps our feet tapping down the road of Texas!! Thanks guys!!!!

Far and away, Cooder Graw's best CD. Hayden Nicholas gets an A+, and so does the band!
