Bottom Line: ROGER ROCKS!! I didn't even have a clue who he was when I was tricked into going and seeing him at the Firehouse in Houston a few months ago. I am usually not a "live music" junkie, but have been addicted to Roger ever since that evening. He releases a type of energy that no one can touch. I grew up to Willie, Waylon, George (1 and 2), Jerry Jeff, and all the best and I have to say that Roger is the only one that can even get close to touching them. Anyone that thinks that this album sucks is obviously listening to the wrong music... I would hate to hear what you think is good music. I have seen Roger 6 times in the past 2 months and there has not been a time that he didn't "rock" -best shows were at the Firehouse and then at Garden in the Heights in Houston. The "kids" in College Station wouldn't be quiet long enough to be able to hear him. I look forward to seeing him at the Catfish Festival in Conroe and then following him to Shiner this weekend..... Gosh, I sound like some junkie... anyway, just love his music - and if you don't like it then why are you wasting time even writing crap on it. I know that my time is more valiable then that... I've got a GREAT concert to get to.... see you soon.

I can't believe all the stuff going back and forth between the two critics. It's exhausting to read - sorry I did. Thanks Chad for explaining what this should be for. I happen to be a huge Roger Creager fan and I'm not a college frat boy. His shows are incredibly entertaining and I think he has written some good songs (including the drinking songs which are fun, too). You can almost feel what he feels in some of his slow songs. I believe all of these artists mature as songwriters the longer they keep at it. I think he'll be around for a while. His CDs are great! PS - George Strait is the king whether he writes his own music or not. Just my opinion.

I have seen Roger Creager perform twice. Tthe first @ REK'ss Texas Uprising at the Woodlands this spring> I was fortunate enough to see him perform at the Firehouse in Houston in Spetember. I purchased both albums after my all to brief exposure at the Woodlands. His music grows on you with repeated listenings. i find myself singing his songs in my head when I'm away from my cd player. His music seems to be "autobiographical". My only problem with his album is that the energy level of his live performances do not come across on his two albums. If you have only listened to his albums, do yourself a favor. Go see him perform live. You will have a new appreciation for his music after you see his enthusiam he puts into his live performances.

Ive been to alot of shows that involve many different artist, such as the two of the texas music toure shows, and Ill have to say that Roger Creager should be a little more outgoing. I dont know, maybee your just a shy guy but part of the reasen that a lot of people like and support texas music is because of the artist themselves. I think that you should come out from behind the curtins and loose the, Ive got to be hidden becouse im the front man, and join the croud. Drop your nuttz and come out from behind your mask and mingle with the people who buy your cd's

I check Pat's reviews all of the time, also. Besides "Carry On" and his live CDs, I believe what you have left are Dancehall Dreamer and George's Bar. I do have both of these CDs but I can't remember all of the songs on them so I will refer to the ones that I can remember: Songs About TX, Here I Go Again, I Like TX (That's all I can think of at the moment). I believe that these are his biggest songs, at least they get the most response at his concerts. They pretty much all say the same thing about TX, Drinking, and name dropping. A lot of the newer singers seem to be doing that and why not! Their crowds seem to love it and it doesn't require much effort. I, for one, just don't care for it and I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with anyone who does! I think Pat is better than Roger but I also think that their writing resembles each other (among some other singers). I believe that Pat has and is maturing artistically and am going to be very interested to see what his next album is like. And you are right. Charlie speaks his songs also. But, do you honestly think Pat's as good as a writer as Charlie? If you want to respond to this under Pat, I check his reviews also.

It's amazing that you just now picked up on the fact that i have only been giving roger 2 stars just now. i've given him 2 stars every message i've written. i don't particularly like creager, but i do enjoy pat green. maybe that's why i haven't said anything in roger's defense but i will speak in pat's. i only put my response under roger so that you would be sure to get it. saying that pat has a tendency to "speak" his lyrics has got to be the weakest point you've tried to make so far. if he speaks his lyrics then so does charlie robison; who, by the way, i agree is a great songwriter. maybe you could explain yourself a little more, um, clearly.

I talk about something new every message is response to a comment that you made in the previous. Unless you are making the same comment every message that you send, of course the response will be different. I apologize if you have yet to get my point. Let me try to get it across to you once more! I believe that Roger Creager and Pat Green are good entertainer. They keep the crowd entertained! As far as their songwriting abilities go, they are both lacking. I see some improvement in Pat's newest CD, but I don't see any in Roger. They don't compare to the others in their field. Now, this is a repeated point. The I thought my opinion was pretty clear the first time. If you have any probs digesting it this time, I'm sure you'll let me know and I'll try to put it in simpler terms, AGAIN. By the way, I also noticed that you only gave him 2 stars also. Why?
