This is the real deal. Where to begin is the hardest part, the live show is 90 min - 2 hours of non stop incredible performing. I have been a fan for years now and have all of his music, and trully believe Jackson Taylor will become a timesless songwriter. His music is from the heart and genuine, from the first song i heard him a knew how he felt when he wrote that.Trust me if you ever get a chance take the night to go see the show, his stage prescence is like none i have seen before in this scene, plus his band is tight and pounding for the whole set.5 stars on every level of this buy

I am new to Red Dirt music. I see that Jackson Taylor is listed as Red Dirt on some sites and not on others. He sounds much harder than the other Red Dirt bands like: Randy Rogers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Stony Larue, Jason Boland ECT.... I love all these bands; but Jackson Taylor to me sounds much more road worn, his voise reminds me of Waylon Jennings and John Lenon all at the same time. I know that sounds crazy. I just down loaded Dark Days from I-tunes and it is so great. I can't think of anyone els who would have the balls and heart to write and sing a song like Good Bye Morphine. This song breaks my heart and gives me hope all at the same time, and the sheer balls to do a song like Shallow Grave in these ultra sensitive times just blows my mind. The song is very dark and a little bit more than disturbing; but I find my self laughing when I hear it. The cover of Honky Tonk Heros is even better than Waylon's much in the same way his cover of It's not suposed to be that way blows willie's out of the sand box. Each song on this CD is top shelf, just as each song on The Whiskey Sessions is great. I believe Jackson Taylor in time will become as respected and loved as his hero's. Jackson dose'nt sound Red Dirt to me, but I think Red Dirt should take it is a big compliment that people put him under that lable. Portland
