High Tide in the Heartland is pure music-period! I have been waiting for this album forever, and a day has not gone by without a listen. If you like music and you haven't seen these guys live, then you should be ashamed of yourself! Listen to Bean, the man is wise, they will change your life!
Phil is the man! I've been to several shows now where he has been featuring some of these songs. His rendition of "Locks" is the best there is. "High Tide in the Heartland" is a huge fan favorite and the best song on this album. I will be in Houston tonight @ the Firehouse Saloon rocking out to Phil. If you've never seen him before and are in town, come to the show. It will change your life!
Wow. I've always admired these guys and their unique way of perfoming and writing even if they were always a little off center in some ways. Perhaps it was an indication of what Phil had in store for everyone. This is really something special if you are a music fan. They just don't make albums like this anymore. There is a feeling and overall atmosphere on this that few artists are capable of acheiving. For most, it's usually always a slick single and a bunch of crappy filler. Every song on this refuses to be ignored. Outstanding.
This is gold! The man put his heart and sole on this one and from front to back this is the best work I've seen from Phil. There is nothing else like it out on the Texas scene.......
