Lance you really dont know what you are talking about bud. Mark is a true texas performer and one of the best songwriters ive ever heard. I really beleive your miximg up your bands, because anyone who has ever seen Mark play will tell you different. so go listen to whatever it is you call Texas country and talk crap about someone else.
I recently read an interview with Manders where he said, "If someone stands up on a table and throws a beer bottle at one of our shows, we know we're doing our job." That's musical terrorism, isn't it?!
I mean, if your show is so boring that audience members are throwing beer botlles instead of listening, what does that say about you as a musical artist?
(Taking tongue out of cheek now to introduce some real commentary)...
I've been the victim of several Mark David Manders performances. If the guy ever sings a note that isn't painfully sharp or flat, I'll eat my cowboy boots. If the guy ever writes a song beyond the 3rd grade level, I'll eat YOUR cowboy boots. If his band ever plays a song on key and on tempo, I'll eat THEIR cowboy boots.
The truth about Manders and his straining, struggling "music" is that folks from outside Texas sometimes hear or (God forbid) witness this crap and think it is what we're all about in Texas... arrogant, cocky, reckless, and repugnant beer swilling yayhoos.
Mark David Manders is doing for Texas Music what Jackie Gleason did for pole-vaulting.
MARK DAVID MANDERS YOUR MUSIC IS GREAT.LOVE YOUR SHOWS.
YOUR LEAD GUITARIST MARK LAFON IS
THE BEST I'VE EVER SEEN.
KEEP THE MUSIC GOING.
MDM is a funny muther f*cker.
Of Mr Manders albums this is the weakest. There are some very good songs. My Old Friend, eight Track, and The Last Supper. Some good songs; Fort Wort and Cannonball, (Thought I do not like paying for 2 mixes of the same song on the same album.) The others are OK. The feeling I have from this album is that he wanted to put an album out but did not have all the material and did not take the time to polish the material. Though it is not his best I am still happy with the purchase. The album has some powerful stories and fun songs.
We love you Mark. You are the best. Melissa and I be jammin' to your new cd right now. Take care, hope to see you again soon!
I love "I'm Alright If You're Alright, Alright" or whatever it is called. It is not deep, but it is fun. As is most of Manders' stuff. He focuses on entertaining, so the live shows are outstanding. His Mick Jagger impersonation is superb. New album: a must-have. Live shows: First rate. Keep it up!
This cd sounds like Mark David Manders wrote the thing on his way to the studio. His current single goes something like this. "I'm alright if your alright, alright? OK. I'm OK if your OK, OK? Alright"
Give me a break.
All three of Marks albums are great and you can not go wrong with them. The strengths are the lyrics and fiddle. The only critisism is his voice. Not every one is blessed with the voice of Willie Nelson.
one of my favorite artists. very good in concert and all of the albums are great. he really reaches out to his fans in concert regardless of how many are there.
