Wow. Now that is songwriting. There are a few wildly popular Texas music scene players and writers who probably secretly wish they could write songs like this. Knight doesnt try to get people dancing in the aisles. He tries, successfully, to knock you upside the head and get you to shut up and listen. How refreshing. This is the best album to come off of this website so far this year. Fact.

to buy in england this costs nigh on 30 dollars and after 3listenings not so good as first still good but i feel if the tracks had been rearranged in thier order on cd it might not have sounded so samey a bit more instrumentation would have been welcome plus alighter and uptempo song here and there.

Both cds' are great - but the truth is, go see Chris Knight LIVE. Last night at the GoldenLight was incredible (thanks Arcadio...) Tons of true fans, and he's still doing it on the road out of an old Suburban and a rented uhaul trailer. Awesome.

Sorry guys but the new cd sucks. I really liked the first one but there's not a hit in the second batch of songs. Maybe it will grow on me in time but for now I would not buy this cd if I were you. I feel like I wasted some cash.

I would give it 10 stars on a 5 star scale. Got an advanced copy from Nashville Music Big Wig (personal friend). All I can say is lead us back to true country music. The songwriting is head and shoulders above anything played on the radio today, and I hope this gets out because it has been a long time since I have heard something of this quality. Been in Nashville my whole life and around the business and this is the best debut album ( I didn't know there was a previous) I have heard since Steve Earl's Exit 0 . Just ordered the First album from this site. Congrats to Chris and the label that signed him. If any one knows DJ's buy them a copy

Chris is awesome on the Guitar. His songs are a little depressing but he is still damn good.

This music makes me feel many different emotions... "Down the River" - I'd do the same thing, no questions asked, if it was my brother. "North Dakota" - It makes me mourn for that guy. "Oil Patch Town" - That's me in high school to a "T". I could go on and on all the way to his first album. I just like the stuff, period!
