I agree it is much like "Little Rock" and "Flowers & Liquor". Very, very, very much like those two.
"Trouble in Mind" is another kick ass record much like "Little Rock" & "Flowers & Liquor". For the folks bitching about the RFT, back away from the keyboard & take a deep breath. It is ok! Hayes will be coming to a city near you.
GREAT new album.
GREAT job at Americana.
I think he should name his band "Less Than Fifty" as his crowd is usually this size. For example - his CD release party at Cheatham Street or his gig last Thursday in Corpus. So be sure to check out Hayes Carll and Less Than Fifty. Just remember to bring a book along.
I am so disappointed at your mgmts decision (and yours to allow it to happen) to not play the radiofreetexas float trip as you committed to just because "something better" came up...and, the comments and actions of your mgmnt is unforgivable to the folks involved with the float trip. do the right thing, with hat in hand, and apologize...your mgmnt should be reprimanded or fired as well!! These actions have/will cost you many, many current and future listeners and "customers"....
One Star does not even begin to fit the issue thats is at hand with Hayes Backing out from playing the Radiofreetexas Float Trip. From my point of view if your going to commit to playing you should be there and if and not double book and sell out when you have an internet radio station that is willing to play your music and especially if the station is one that is request drivin and your songs a being played because we as a listiner are requesting your songs. I personally fell you Hayes should get a negitive five stars. For what you have done.
Hayes Carll's new album, his old albums, his manager, his staff, his family, his festival, and MOST of his fans......are all top-notch. It doesn't matter if he's in Florida, Arkansas, Texas or Timbuktu - i'll always be a fan.
WOW what a let down! C'mon Hayes! Stand up for yourself and the integrity of your music! Don't let your "management" back out on your obligations for you. You're letting down a very faithful group of people...why not reschedule the Florida thing since the RFT deal was already done? Love the music, man! But seriously, do the right thing!
hayes, sorry to hear that your record labels decision to play in florida over the rowdy float trip is more important than your roots in texas, where your true fans are. i'm saddened that the person who's music i love but have yet to see in person, wont be where i am july 18 and 19 because he feels that retirees in florida are more important than keeping his word. good luck on your way to being a sellout.
