Stoney LaRue
Artist Review
I've been supporting Texas music since the progressive country movement of the 1970s, and I've seen it die and get reborn many times over. I've seen a couple of Stoney's shows, and I've had people submit a couple of his CDs for review, and I'm left standing in the rain wondering... What does this guy have to do with Texas? What does he have to do with Texas Music? What does he have to do with music, period? I mean, I understand what he's about: some college girls (and maybe, boys) would like to fornicate with him, but in the general scheme of... music, well. Sorry, I don't get it.

I LOVE this CD. There is not a day that goes by that I don't listen to ALL the songs. His voice speaks to the soul. This CD is a must have for every Texas music listener.

This singer/songwriter comes from a great background of music. And his talents spread among the ones he get to write and play with. This Red Dirt Album is definitely a must have and i seriously cant wait til the Live @ Billy Bobs comes out, hopefully they include a DVD as well. And dont forget to seing brandon jenkins song, "feet dont touch the ground!" I think everyone will agree they love you playing thay song along with your others! Keep on Keep'n on!

Glad you know the truth now. The reason he went with first and middle is it was a family name passed on to him. Nothing wrong with that.

Mr. Nope, then what I read wasn't entirely correct. That's why I asked the question here, I knew if it was wrong someone would point that out. Still seems kinda odd, Phillips is a fine name.
