I've been listening to this cd for a while and had to see Mike perform it live at Floores Country Store. This guy is a song writing genius. He kicked ass with The Great Divide and his creativity is even better by himself. Thanks for the super quality Mike. I was pretty well hammered by the time that one was over.
I suppose the people who put down Billy Ray Cyrus didn't "get it." That's your all inspired brilliant rebuttal? If you have to point out that you have such a high Intelligence Quotient, it's a good indication that you probably aren't that bright. Once again: Mike McClure = 2nd grade talent show.
You see, it is music that makes you think. If you don't like to think, then maybe it's not for you. If you put it down, it's because you don't "get it"...It's not his job to write at your level. It's your job to try to bring yourself to his. Or just keep listening to Cory Morrow and Roger Creager..You should be able to get that pretty easy..Good luck with your stay in Jackassville James.
I dont see how some of theses people dont show the proper respect to mike and the guys. He opened the door for many bands like ccr, boland, and stoney to name a few. so if you like any of those bands, you should thank mike for all the help he gave them
When I first saw The Great Divide on CMT in 1999, I thought it was a joke. Since then, I haven't seen or heard a hint of improvement from TGD or it's front man. If anything, MM has settled into some kind of parody of his own act. . .however, it's not funny whatsoever. Is that his real voice. . .is he kidding? This guy couldn't win a 2nd grade talent show. What do you expect from someone who plays coconut country?
Some day, and it will be soon, the music world will realize the genius of Mike McClure. He is simply the finest musician on the field today. Listen to his latest album and you will know. He is the cutting edge of Texas, Reddirt, Country, whatever genre you want. Rock on Mike! The world will find you.

Mike is great in a solo acoustic venue, but oh that band....It's magic. Absolutely the best band in the world. Pyeatt is insane on guitar, Jamie is as solid as they come and Eric rocks. It's the package man...the whole package
Mike is even better solo. His music is wonderful. He is an amazing musician, and if you haven't gone to see him and his band play, you are missing out!
