Stoney LaRue
Artist Review
Went to Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth on Friday night to catch the Farewell to Sanity tour. What an energetic and kickass performance the guys put on. So many talented musicians in these bands. Wade Bowen was first--revving up the mood--(Cory Morrow was there, being his usual arrogant, asshole self--and NO, he is NOT part of the tour, thank God)--then Django Walker was next--with his 'head banging' style--THEN, as far as I (and others) are concerned, the main attraction, Stoney LaRue was up with his band, along with a few of the guys from the other two bands---and OMG--the place was WILD! He is like the next big thing in Texas. He said that he recently moved to New Braunfels--and we are proud to have him here in this great state. His songs, his voice, his look , his talent--he has got it all. I'll bet he looks great in a Stetson, too. I will always be a fan of all three of these bands---but Stoney is by far, numero uno---if you get a chance, so out to see him--you will not be sorry---and will leave ENERGIZED! Wonderful show guys!!!

"Downtown", is one of the freshest albums I have heard in a long time. There is not a bad song on the entire album. I saw Stoney in concert and had the pleasure of talking with him for a while. He puts on a hell of a show and is a real person with real songs. Buy this album before he gets too famous and everyone knows who he is.

S.L.O.B.B. is awesome. Stoney is not only VERY talented, but he is also a down-to-earth guy. I had the opportunity to meet Stoney several times, most of them at a Great Divide concert. There is more than just one song on this cd that is worth listening to. Stoney puts heart and soul into everything he writes and sings. If you love "Red Dirt" music from the roots of Stillwater,OK, then your going to love "Downtown"!

Stoney's album is absolutely amazing! The recording may not be the greatest, but if you've ever seen him perform you know how amazing he truly is. He sings with passion and personally I feel very connected to his music. Good luck with everything guys!! I can't wait for a new album. Don't forget us back here in Stillwater. I'm beginning to miss those Tuesday's at the Dog.

Great album. Stoney and the OBB did a wonderful job on this recording. I definitely recomend it to and Red Dirt/Texas music fan or anyone who enjoys good music with great a great songwriter behind it. Many average listeners may get stuck on songs like Shot Full of Holes, or Feet Don't Touch The Ground which are both great songs but the entire album is great from top to bottom.

Stoney is awesome! It is too cool when you can enjoy one of your favorite performers on stage. Stoney, the band and the crew are great guys and we always feel warmly welcomed when we see them perform.

You can see that Stoney has potential but the recording is horrendous. I hope that Stoney will be able to tour for a while and then put out an album that is recorded with better quality. Reminds me of Jack Ingram's first album. Stoney does have a great voice.
