Stoney LaRue is great. The Organic Boogie Band, sadly, is not. If you get a chance to see Stoney play HIS songs solo, then go see him. He is something special. I don't recommend this CD as much as his earlier (and hard to find) solo CD. His band just brings him down. Stoney is at best when his voice and his guitar work are on showcase. Not when some glorified back-up player is trying to jam over the vocals.
But, if you can't get his solo CD, at least you can try to fight through this one and hear Stoney's voice and his nice songs.
I have been following Stoney since my days at OSU! He was awesome then and he is even more awesome now! However, nothing beats his "singin' for senior party days!" I think he has great talent, and I am so happy to finally see him get some recognition and a CD that I can buy and enjoy! Thanks Stoney!
this cd is so heartfelt and incouraging, when he performs life his songs and his performance kick ass
I saw this guy for the first time in San Angelo. He is absolutely awesome. One of the best shows Ive seen in a long time.
i saw stoney larue last night for the first time at the red dirt cafe. it only took once. he has a great voice, great band behind him, and the atmosphere was real good. i will definetly try to see everyone of his shows in the norman area. great, great music.
Stoney is definately the hottest thing to be making waves out of Oklahoma these days. His singing and songwriting is incredible and he's backed by an awesome group of musicians in his band. I saw them for the first time with Boland in San Marcos last week and I was completely blown away! I'll definately be checking this guy out every chance I get from now on!!

Someone earlier said it best, "if you don't like music, go to one of Stoney's shows, and you will." There have been a lot of bands pass through Stillwater lately, but nobody's music grabs you quite like Stoney's. Awesome CD and killer live show. Go see them.
I saw Stoney at Saengerhalle's in New Braunfels on Friday and then on Saturday at Gordo's in San Marcos. Fantastic show!!!! Only problem was too loud of instruments at Saengerhalle---drowned out his excellent voice and acoustic guitar playing.Other than that---he is a definite five star performer with a very promising career ahead of him. You can tell he has natural talent.I would recommend anyone who likes music---go see Stoney.If you don't like music--you will when you leave his show.
