Great stuff. Mix a little Dylan, a little Willie, some Jim Croce and a whole lot of both originality and traditional country and you've got Max Stalling. I have listened to this album repeatedly and every song stills sounds fresh. I am ordering "Comfort in the Curves" today.
Not many other artist can consistantly produce great music one release after another. Unlike Jack's others, this one leans more toward Rockin' than Honky Tonk. The first 2 or 3 times I listened, I was uneasy with the new sound-- but then it hit. This CD, flat out, sounds great -- song after song. Jack and Band put together one of the best CD's of the year. Two years later it still ROCKS.
I dont think its a question of Pat selling out. This CD is just plain bad. The singing is terrible. The songwriting is juvenile. Pat showed some potential with "Carry On" but this CD is the worst Texas music CD Ive heard this year.
I remember my dad listening to Tex Ritter when I was a little girl. I especially remember the song "The Deck of Cards", I would love to find the words to the song. Even at a young age this song had so much meaning. please help

Way to go, Frat Green. How can join the Nashville-Pop scene? Maybe you won't turn to shit. Maybe you'll bring Texas music to the rest of the country. You get three stars just because you haven't completely sold out. At least you don't wear a cowboy hat, yet.
This is wonderful!!! He is too awesome!!!!!!!
I'm sorry, but I have to say it doesn't matter how good some of these songs are or how much I like them, this album is by far his worst effort. I'll buy his next one, because you know he'll make up for it. But this one's going to the back of the CD rack.

If it wasn't for 'Gravitational Forces' and a pretty bad redo of Road Goes On, this alblum would be great. 'Not a Drop of Rain', 'Hall of Fame' and 'HighPlains Jamboree' kick ass...
