Just another case of the suits winning the battle in the same ol' game. Nuck Fashivlle, and Shooter too.
This fuckin cd is badass. 4th of July is great feel good song. There isnt anything wrong with his lyrics. Its one of the better cd's released in a while.
I think the cd kick's ass.
Keep it coming shooter.
My name says it. The album proves it. There might be stellar musicianship, and if music is what made the album Shooter would have our respect. Unfortunately, the music ain't a damn thing without the lyrics, and that's where Shooter falls short. His level of creativity is that of your typical 9-5, shiny BMW drivin' Music Row cowpie and the stank is something awful.
If you're looking for OUTLAW country, buy anything by Hank III, Wayne "The Train" Hancock, Kenneth Brian, or the Highwaymen.
This ain't country and yall can definitely kiss my ass.
Outlaw Country Rock at it's Best!
A great new addition to the Independant/Texas Music Scene!
Awesome album, a great southern rock sound, great writing, and great musicians make a great combination.
shooter has already been given a break, and has proved hands down that he sucks. his songs, at best are "half songs". they dont make you want to turn the radio on, they make you run to turn it off and question "why did i buy this piece of garbage?" anyone who thinks this is as good, or better than anything waylon did needs to get a grip on reality. shooter isn't poised to go too far, taking the approach with this album that springsteen did with most of his non-hit albums from the 80s. it's definitely not his best work, and it seriously does sound like the mediocrity coming out of nashville and the frat boy texas music scene.
***two thumbs down***
What the hell is wrong with all of you people out there. All I'm reading is Pat Green this Cross Canadian that. Give it up already. If your'e mad at them for going Nashville, don't buy thier cd's, don't watch thier video's. But don't take it out on this guy. He sounds nothing like them. And don't try and compare him to his namesake. No one will ever match up to Waylon. Shooter's got a sound of his own and I know alot of people (who aren't biased towards artists who left the Texas scene and branched out) who are digging his stuff. Get over being dissapointed about Pat and Cross going "Nashville" and get a life. You should be old enough to know good music when you hear it, and this is good music. Can't wait to hear him live. By the way, if you people are really tired of the same old stuff on Texas radio you should branch out and listen to a little Micheal O'Neal (onealonline.net), or James McMurtry. Try it and you'll like it.
WOW!! Awesome CD something you can put in the stereo and rock out to. I've been waiting for a album like this. And who da thunk it, that the son of waylon jennings would be the guy to do it. There isn't one song on the CD I don't like. Texas music needs more people like this, people that now how to "PUT THE 'O' BACK IN CUNTRY".
Very strong debut album. Just like Waylon, Shooter is doing things his own way. A good mix of traditional country and rock & roll. My hat's off to Shooter.
