Aaron is one of those artists that I olve to load in the CD player when I have paperwork to complete in my office. His easy to listen to voive helps me relax and concentrate of the business at hand.
Hopefully, somday soon, "Caught Between A Rock and A Heartache" will be in the show!!
Give him a listen and I know you will agree....HE'S GOING PLACES!!!
Just remember all of little people from along the way.
Aaron Watson is great. What better way to forget your troubles by listening to a true Texas artist. And he's definitely something to keep your eyes on!! - He wasn't bad in high school either! Keep it up Aaron.
Aaron Watson is the man. Hes stayin true to not only country but to TX as well. Hes a friendly guy and puts on an awesome show. Go see him if you get the chance, I guarantee you won't be sorry!
After listening to Aaron's CD "Shut Up and Dance," I'm confident in saying that this is ANYTHING but "Texas Music." Aaron is obviously following a long line of pseudo whiper snappy writers as the likes of any cheese ball that has come out of Nashville in the last 14 years. His performing and singing styles are on the poor side of Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, & Tracy Byrd. If this guy hadn't come from "Nashville" then you would probably see him on any given night on the honky tonk stage at Billy Bob's doing slick covers of Lonestar, topped off with "Play the Funky Music." What is he really lacking? Originality. What's sad is that he can hold a tune, but can't half the people out there do the same? Since when did a big bank account and a closet full of pearl snap shirts turn your rodeo cowboy dance hall weekend band into today's upcoming Texas musician? I'll never understand it. If you've read my reviews before, I'm not a fan of most Texas music. Roger Creager and Blue Edmonds literally turns my stomach with their ultra pitiful writing and sickening performance on stage, however in Aaron's case, he seems to have the potential of doing something worth listening to, if he could only stop mimicking everything bad about Nashville and Texas. To me his music is a total predictable parody. It's a real shame, but not a surprise.
Aaron Watson is the greatest ever!!!!!
I first saw and heard of Aaron Watson in my hometown, Rocksprings Tx. i love Aaron and i am so excited to see him july the 5th at Rocksprings.
Came into the Texas music scene by the influence of my new wife. I was taken to an Aaron Watson concert down in Houston and was amazed--went and bought a CD right there at the show. I've played it for my friends up here and they love it. I recommend his music to anyone! It's straight from the heart.
Aaron's writing is a little corny for my likings. I think he has yet to master the art of country music, but if he can keep a following, more power to him. I don't see him making a lifelong career out of songwriting, but hey, whatever pays the bills for the time being. I've heard worse.
To Sara who wrote the negative review below........
Don't quit your day job to become a critic! I wouldn't judge the art of songwriting until you've mastered the english language first. This is a great album but perhaps it's above the heads of those who cannot read or write so well (Sara).
Aron is at best good (not great)
He does have a desent voise and an ok band. However his song wrighting sucks and I wouldn't recomend the new cd to anyone.
